Commissioners of the Town of Fountain Hills will attend either in person or by telephone conference call; a quorum of the
Town’s Council, various Commission, Committee or Board members may be in attendance at the Commission meeting.
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to A.R.S. §1-602.A.9, subject to certain specified statutory exceptions, parents have a
right to consent before the State or any of its political subdivisions make a video or audio recording of a minor child. Meetings
of the Commission are audio and/or video recorded and, as a result, proceedings in which children are present may be subject
to such recording. Parents, in order to exercise their rights may either file written consent with the Town Clerk to such
recording, or take personal action to ensure that their child or children are not present when a recording may be made. If a
child is present at the time a recording is made, the Town will assume that the rights afforded parents pursuant to A.R.S.
§1-602.A.9 have been waived.

The public is welcome to participate in Commission meetings.
TO SPEAK TO AN AGENDA ITEM, please complete a Request to Comment card, located in the back of
the Council Chambers, and hand it to the Executive Assistant prior to discussion of that item, if
possible. Include the agenda item on which you wish to comment. Speakers will be allowed three
contiguous minutes to address the Commission. Verbal comments should be directed through the
Presiding Officer and not to individual Commissioners.
TO COMMENT ON AN AGENDA ITEM IN WRITING ONLY, please complete a Request to Comment card,
indicating it is a written comment, and check the box on whether you are FOR or AGAINST and agenda
item, and hand it to the Executive Assistant prior to discussion, if possible.

during Call to the Public unless the matters are properly noticed for discussion and legal action. At the conclusion
of the Call to the Public, individual commissioners may (i) respond to criticism, (ii) ask staff to review a matter, or
(iii) ask that the matter be placed on a future Commission agenda.

5.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE DIRECTION: Future Tours and Parks Awareness
Ms. Goodwin shared that a tour of Four Peaks Park would be held at 6:00 pm after the
CSAC meeting to inform the neighborhood of the upcoming projects planned for the
park. Commissioner Ruppert asked when another tour for CSAC commissioners could
be scheduled and it was suggested by Ms. Goodwin that Desert Vista be toured to see
the mini-pitch, skate park, and lighting additions.
6.UPDATE: Four Peaks Park Neighborhood Meeting May 23, 2022 at 6:00 pm
Ms. Goodwin shared that she and Kevin Snipes, Parks Superintendent, would be having
a neighborhood informational meeting at Four Peaks Park on May 23, 2022, at 6:00 PM
following the CSAC meeting. This meeting will highlight upcoming projects scheduled
for 12 months, focusing on new landscaping projects along Del Cambre, the Pickleball
Courts, and the playground area. Residents will learn how and why specific plants are
selected to help provide shade and increase sustainability in the park. Staff will also
discuss new shade ramadas and their locations, parking lot improvements, possible
grant opportunities, and how users can help report vandalism and educate other park
users. These public meetings follow the Strategic Plan for communication with the
public.
7.UPDATE: First at the Fountain - July 1st Celebration
Ms. Goodwin updated the commissioners on the difficulty of securing fireworks for the
4th of July due to supply chain issues and staffing. It was necessary to find a new
vendor and change the 4th of July date to July 1st. The Town will celebrate "First at the
Fountain" on Friday, July 1st, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM with fireworks going off at 9:00
pm.
8.UPDATE: Volunteer Opportunities with Town Events
Ms. Goodwin informed the commissioners that Kim Wickland, Volunteer Coordinator,
sends out volunteer notices on upcoming events via email to the volunteers that have
entered their information into the new volunteer database. Once a month, volunteers
have an opportunity to participate in the Day of Giving program, helping out at Feed My
Starving Children, St. Mary's Food Bank, and other local agencies in need. In July there
will be a school supply drive and supplies collected for teachers to donate from their wish
list to help start the new school year.
9.UPDATE: CSAC June 27, 2022 Meeting Date Rescheduled to June 13, 2022 at 4:00 pm
Due to a scheduling conflict, the CSAC June 27, 2022 meeting date had to be
rescheduled to June 13, 2022 at 4:00 PM. A motion was made to approve the change of
the adopted 2022 CSAC Meeting Dates Calendar.

year in a row. The 2022 NRPA Annual Conference will be in Phoenix, Arizona, from September 20-22,

options to reduce the cost of admission.
