Data Responses Keep the natural desert landscape. Clean up all of the washes of invasive species. Remove the javelina from the town. Leave the beautiful, natural desert landscape undisturbed.1 Focus on the local desert environment.1 Rain water capture, native plants, focus on health, no 5G 1 More solar power, trees/natural shade, additional trails, less trash on major streets (Shea, Saguaro, etc)1 Manage space to provide for shade while preserving views & precious water supplies 1 If you have to describe what 'Biophilic is' - you should not be doing it. Not everyone is as 'woke' as you. Additional community gardens and plant classes, empasis on zero scaping that is attractive 1 Fountain Hills is in the Sonoran Desert. Saguaro and prickly pear cactus are native and popular in plantings. Bursage is mor common naturally and holds the soil but it is unattractive. Brittlebush is also common, more attractive, grows in disturbed soil, and has gorgeous spring owers. But what we need ar more creosotes. They are native, need almost no water, but will grow beautifully with a little more than natural water. The plant is open feathery and nice, plant more. And desert marigolds are native and gorgeous and will bloom all year if they get a little more than natural water. Plant more. Also need more globe mallows and lupines, which grow wild along roadways and other disturbed areas. And I should mention ocotillos. Plant more. They will root from cuttings. They look dead most of the year, then suddenly put out little green leaves, or in spting, spikes of red owrs. Great! 1 Always keep it clean.1 Remove invasive plants.1 I enjoy it as it is.1 Curbing of invasive vegetative species 1 In the desert, harmony with nature does not require dedicating large areas to growing the trees, bushes and grasses from the east but rather nurturing the natural beauty of the southwest.1 Clone of Biophilic Fountain Hill 4 Question Survey Do you have any questions, ideas or comments that you would like to add? Data Responses No 7 Stop building towering Oces, Apartments, Resorts etc...that take away from the natural Landscapes, Mountains and Fountain Views.2 I would like to be assured that our recycled paper & items are being recycled & proof of this furnished rather than me being tempted to follow the recycle truck to where he dumps his load!2 Must I be a resident of Fountain Hills to participate? I live close by and frequent Ft Hills.2 It was dicult choosing just one option on some of these questions, particularly the last with town trails vs biking. The other was tree canopy and vegetation vs town greening. All excellent ideas and should be pursued. Thanks r doing this.2 I love the area by the sidewalk around the fountain, along La Montana, where desert plants are identied. I would like to see more like that, only maybe add more info about planting/maintaining? And more classes on growing things here. Specically for here. What I read on a plant label at Home Depot does NOT mean it grows well here. 2 Address over-building thus ruining our natural landscape.1 I selected one answer per question, but actually believe multiple projects can occur simultaneously. Most of these are excellent concepts.1 Educate residents about the importance of climate change, and everyone's responsibility to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.1 Really pleased FH is moving in this direction!1 I feel your organization is dishonest in its true agenda 1 Again, keep the natural desert beauty. Keep the open spaces. No more apartments or condos built. Concentrate on permanent, year- round residents who will live in standalone homes. In order for the town to be sustainable, it must seek year-round residents who are willing to invest whole-heartedly in the town. Make sure the quality of life in the town continues. It would be advantageous to have our own police department with ocers who live and work in our community. For instance, having ocers on bicycles in the downtown area as well as foot patrol in the park areas and the downtown. Maintain the small town open space community. 1 Thank You! Clone of Biophilic Fountain Hill 4 Question Survey To become a partner with the network, the town must meet six requirements: •Official Resolution of adoption by the Town Government •A narrative statement of the town’s biophilic intentions •Selecting a minimum of five indicators to monitor progress •Designation of a town contact or coordinator •Assist fellow partners and participate in partner events, workshops and conferences •One-time fee of $250 NATURAL CONDITIONS, QUALITIES, INFRASTRUCTURE •Greening Town Infrastructure •Urban Forestry BIOPHILIC ENGAGEMENT, PARTICIPATION, ACTIVITIES & KNOWLEDGE •Sustainable Fountain Hills •Sonoran Desert Festival BIOPHILIC INSTITUTIONS, PLANNING & GOVERNANCE •Habitat Strategy •Wildfire Awareness Program HUMAN HEALTH & WELL-BEING •Connective Trails and Bicycle Friendly Community •JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Committee •Fountain Hills is an excellent candidate •Fosters community wellbeing •Champions conservation •Bolsters the economy •Builds resilience ITEM 6.
