Notice is hereby given that pursuant to A.R.S. §1-602.A.9, subject to certain specified statutory exceptions, parents have a right to consent before the State or any of its political subdivisions make a video or audio recording of a minor child. Meetings of the Town Council are audio and/or video recorded and, as a result, proceedings in which children are present may be subject to such recording. Parents, in order to exercise their rights may either file written consent with the Town Clerk to such recording, or take personal action to ensure that their child or children are not present when a recording may be made. TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS STAFF REPORT Meeting Date: 8/5/2025 Meeting Type: Town Council Special Meeting Submitting Department: Community Services Prepared by: Kevin Snipes, Community Services Director Staff Contact Information: Phone: 480-816-5178 Email: ksnipes@fountainhillsaz.gov Request to Town Council Regular Meeting (Agenda Language) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION: Relating to a possible pause in the Community Center Fee Schedule for local non-profit organizations. Staff Summary (background) The Mayor and Council members have received feedback from community members regarding the Community Center fee policy for local nonprofit organizations. These conversations have highlighted the need for additional clarification and understanding of the fee structure before it is fully implemented. At the direction of Mayor Friedel, this item has been added to the agenda to propose a temporary suspension of the Council-directed Non-Profit pricing policy. This action would revert Community Center fees for local nonprofits to the previous structure through the September 9 Work Session, at which time the matter will be revisited by the Council for further discussion and direction. If directed, the temporary reversion would apply only to reservations taking place through September 9. Reservations scheduled for dates after September 9 will be subject to revision, pending Council action. This recommended action is intended to provide both Council and staff with additional time to evaluate the policy’s potential impacts. Recent public input and considerations underscore the need for further analysis and discussion before moving forward. We are prepared to operate under either the existing or revised structure as directed by the Council; therefore, two motions have been provided for consideration. Page 22 of 23 Suggested Motion MOVE TO APPROVE a temporary suspension of the Community Center Non-Profit fee schedule for local nonprofits and revert to the previous fee structure for reservations occurring through September 9, 2025. or MOVE TO APPROVE maintaining the current Community Center Non-Profit fee structure as previously directed.
