HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2013-56RESOLUTION NO. 2013-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE PURCHASE OF PORTABLE RADIOS BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ANY RESULTING GRANT AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is accepting proposals from local agencies for projects relating to improving operational issues in providing emergency response services; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills desire to submit a grant application (the "Application ") to be considered by FEMA for funding to replace aging portable radios used by the Town's fire department in providing emergency response services. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS as follows: SECTION 1. The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. SECTION 2. The submittal of the Application to FEMA for funding in the amount of $109,196.21 is hereby authorized. SECTION 3. The expenditure of a local match in the amount of $10,920.00, as required by the Application, is hereby authorized and officially designated to be used in conjunction with the FEMA funds. SECTION 4. The Mayor, the Town Manager, the Town Clerk and the Town Attorney are hereby authorized and directed to (i) execute and submit all documents and any other necessary or desirable instruments in connection with the Application, (ii) execute any resulting grant agreements and other documents and (iii) take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
