RESOLUTION NO. 1991 -38
I A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, SUPPORTING AND URGING THE
INCLUSION IN THE 1991/92 LEAGUE OF ARIZONA CITIES AND
TOWNS MUNICIPAL POLICY STATEMENT, A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING
THE CONTINUATION OF THE CURRENT METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION OF
STATE COLLECTED, LOCALLY SHARED REVENUES TO CITIES AND
TOWNS.
WHEREAS, the Arizona League of Cities and Towns will adopt a
annual Policy Statement at its conference in Yuma; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this policy statement is to give
direction to League staff concerning its work with the State
Legislature; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the Town of Fountain Hills to
sponsor or co- sponsor items of municipal interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Fountain
Hills urges the League of Arizona Cities and Towns at its annual
conference to be held in Yuma, Arizona, on Wednesday, October 23,
1991, to adopt the following Resolution for inclusion in it's
Municipal Policy Statement:
"URGES THE CONTINUATION OF UNIFIED LOCAL EFFORTS TO
RETAIN THE CURRENT DISTRIBUTION OF STATE COLLECTED,
LOCALLY SHARED REVENUES TO CITIES AND TOWNS. ONCE AGAIN,
THE RETENTION OF STATE SHARED REVENUES SHOULD BE OUR
COLLECTIVE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY AT THE LEGISLATURE.
ALTHOUGH CITIES AND TOWNS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN
RETAINING THESE MONIES FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS, WE MUST
CONTINUE TO FOCUS OUR UNDIVIDED EFFORTS ON ENSURING THAT
THESE MONIES CONTINUE TO BE RETURNED TO CITIES AND
TOWNS."
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Common Council of the Town
of Fountain Hills, Arizona, this 15th day of August, 1991.
