A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE ARIZONA
SUPREME COURT FOR FUNDS TO UNDERTAKE A 'JUDICIAL ENFORCEMENT UNIT"
PROGRAM IN THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS MAGISTRATE COURT, TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS, STATE OF ARIZONA; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE TOWN
MAGISTRATE AND TOWN MARSHAL TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS IN
CONNECTION THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, the Arizona Supreme Court is making grant funds available to courts in the State
of Arizona through a Judicial Collection Enhancement Funds (JCEF) Program; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the JCEF Program is to assist such courts in improving the quality
and consistency of justice by ensuring compliance with court orders, especially in the area of
fines and monetary sanctions; and increasing court revenues through intensified efforts for
collections; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fountain Hills wishes to undertake a "Judicial Enforcement Unit"
Program using grant funds from the JCEF Program to assist the Town of Fountain Hills
Magistrate Court in identifying and locating individuals who are delinquent in paying fines, and
in collecting same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of
Fountain Hills, State of Arizona, as follows:
SECTION 1. That Magistrate and Marshal be authorized to prepare and submit an application
to the Arizona Supreme Court for funds under the JCEF Program to hire a certified peace officer
under the auspices of the Town Marshal of Fountain Hills, and implement a 'Judicial
Enforcement Unit" Program within the Town of Fountain Hills Magistrate Court.
SECTION 2. That the Town Magistrate and Town Marshal be, and they are hereby, authorized
and directed to execute in behalf of the Town of Fountain Hills all necessary documents in
connection with the performance and completion of the application and the Project.
