RESOLUTION NO.1996-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,MARICOPA COUNTY,ARIZONA,DECLARING
AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD
ON MARCH 12,1996;AND ORDERING THE RECORDING OF SUCH
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS,theTown Council of Fountain Hills,Maricopa County,ArizonabyResolutionNo.
1995-66,adopted onthe16thdayof November,1995,did cause tobe submitted tothe qualified electors
ofthetownataprimary election calledandheldinandforthe Town onthe 12th dayofMarch,1996 for
the nomination and/or possible election of three Town Councilmembers and Mayor;and
WHEREAS,theTownCouncildidcausenoticeofthe primary election tobegivenbytheTown
Clerk publishing notice thereof inthe Times newspaper as provided bylaw,such newspaper published
inandhavinggeneralcirculationwithinsaidtown,whichsaidnoticeassopublisheddidspecifythetime
andplacewhereatsuch election wastobeheld,copyofsaidnoticewiththe affidavit of publication
attached thereto,being nowonfileanda part of the official records of the Town Council ofsaidtown,
and
WHEREAS,the election returns have been presented toand have been canvassed bythe Town
Council.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain
Hills,Maricopa County,Arizona,as follows:
SECTION 1.Thatthetotal number ofballotscastatsaid primary election,asshownbythepoll
lists,was 4,(
SECTION 2.That the number of ballots tobe verified was86,the number of challenged ballots
was0and that voters foundtobe ineligible were 21.
SECTION 3.That thevotes cast forthe candidates for mayor wereas follows:

received more than one-half of the total number of valid votes cast.
SECTION 6.Thatisherebyfound,determined and declared of record,thatthefollowing2
candidates for mayor and6 candidates for councilmember did receive thenext greatest numberofvotes
oftheelectorsofthetownvotingatsaidelectionandshallhavetheirnamesplacedonthegeneral
municipal election ballot of the Town of Fountain Hills,Maricopa County,Arizona,tobeheldonthe21st
day of May,1996,andare hereby issued certificates of nomination.
