A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,AUTHORIZING
THE TOWN TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP IN SISTER
CITIES INTERNATIONAL;DIRECTING THE PAYMENT
OF RESERVATION FEES FOR THE MAYOR AND ANY
INTERESTED COUNCIL MEMBERS TO THE
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION OF SISTER CITIES
INTERNATIONAL;AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
APPOINT A CITIZEN COMMITTEE TO WORK WITH THE
COUNCIL TO EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY OF
ACQUIRING A SISTER CITY.
WHEREAS:It is in the best interests of the Town of Fountain Hills to become involved
inthe greater world-wide community;and
WHEREAS:One of the best vehicles to foster international communication and
understanding isthroughthe International Sister City Program;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL
OFTHE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,thattheTownofFountainHillsishereby
authorizedtoapplyfor membership in Sister Cities International,effective July1,1996;and
BEIT FURTHER RESOLVED thatthe Town of Fountain Hillsshallpaythe reservation
fees(notthe cost of transportation,meals or lodging)tothe1996 International Convention of
SisterCitiesInternational,tobeheldinBostonfromJuly23to27,1996,fortheMayorandany
Town Council Member of the Town of Fountain Hills who wishes to attend such convention;and
BEIT FURTHER RESOLVED thatthe Mayor of Fountain Hillsishereby authorized to
appoint a committee of interested Fountain Hills residents to explore,withthe Town Council,the
possibility of acquiring a Sister City under the International Sister Cities Program.

Hills,Arizona.
