A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF THE COTTONWOODS
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT APPROVING THE FINAL BUDGET OF THE
DISTRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1,2014 AND
ENDING JUNE 30,2015.
WHEREAS,theprovisions of Ariz.Rev.Stat.§§48-574and48-575allowforthe
assessment of maintenance chargesuponthelotsandparcelswithinan improvement districtand
suchassessmentstobecollectedinthemannerandbytheofficersprovidedbylawforthe
collectionand enforcement of generaltaxes;and
WHEREAS,pursuantto Ariz.Rev.Stat.§§48-574(E)and 48-575(E),onMay 1,2014,
the Board of Directors of the Cottonwoods Maintenance District (the "Board")approved
ResolutionCMD 2014-01,which(i)adoptedthestatementsandschedulesattachedasExhibitA
and incorporated herein bythis reference asthe tentative budget forthe Cottonwoods
Maintenance District,MaricopaCounty,Arizona,(the"District")forthefiscalyear 2014-15 and
(ii)authorized and directed the District Clerktocausetobe(a)mailed tothe governing bodyof
theTown of FountainHillsandallpersonsowningrealpropertywithintheDistrictand(b)
published ina manner prescribed by law,a notice that the Board would meet on June 5,2014,for
the purpose of conducting a final hearing for District taxpayers onthe statements and estimates
of theDistrictexpendituresfiledwiththeDistrictClerk;and
WHEREAS,propernoticewasgivenby(i)publication inthe Fountain Hills Times on
May 7,2014,and May 14,2014,and (ii)first class mail toall persons owning real property in
the District onMay2,2014;and
WHEREAS,onJune5,2014,theBoardheldapublichearingtoallowtaxpayers of the
Districttovoicetheircommentsinfavor of oragainstanyproposedexpendituresand
assessments;and
WHEREAS,any person owning real property affected bythe assessment whohadany
objection tothe legality of the assessment orto any of the previous proceedings connected
therewith was given the opportunity to appear before the Board atthe hearing to present any
further objections.
NOW,THEREFORE,BEIT RESOLVED bythe Board of Directors ofthe
CottonwoodsMaintenanceDistrict,MaricopaCounty,Arizona,asfollows:
SECTION1.Therecitalsaboveareherebyincorporatedas if fullysetforthherein.
SECTION2.TheBoardhasheardallobjectionsandhasdeterminedthat(i)such
objections do not provide a basis for a modification ofthe statements and schedules attached
hereto as Exhibit Aand(ii)any informalities or irregularities which mayhave occurred inthe
adoption process for the District budget have been properly remedied.

SECTION 3.The statements and schedules attached hereto as Exhibit A and
incorporated hereinbythisreference,areherebyapprovedforthepurposeashereinaftersetforth
asthefinalbudgetfortheCottonwoodsMaintenanceDistrict,MaricopaCounty,Arizona,forthe
fiscalyear 2014-15.Thestatementsandestimates of theoperationandmaintenanceexpenses of
theDistrict,thecosts of capitalimprovementsandotherexpendituresforpublicinfrastructure of
the District are hereby filedwiththe District Clerk.
SECTION 4.TheDistrictChairperson,theDistrictClerkandtheDistrictCounselare
herebyauthorizedanddirectedtotakeallstepsnecessarytocarryoutthepurposeandintent of
this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bytheBoard of Directors of the Cottonwoods Maintenance
District,Maricopa County,Arizona,onJune5,2014.
