RESOLUTION 1998-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR LOCAL,REGIONAL AND STATE
PARKS FUNDS;ADOPTING THE PROCEDURES ESTABLISHED
BY THE ARIZONA STATE PARKS BOARD FOR SUCH
APPLICATIONS;AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN DIRECTOR
OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE
MAYOR AND COUNCIL WITH REGARD TO THE
APPLICATION.
WHEREAS,the State Legislature under A.R.S.§41-503 has authorized the
establishment oflocal,regional andstateparks program providing fundstoStateof
Arizonaandothereligibleapplicantsforacquiringlandsanddevelopingfacilitiesfor
public outdoor recreational purposes;and
WHEREAS,the Arizona StateParksBoard ("BOARD")is responsible forthe
administration ofthe program withinthestate,settingupthenecessaryrulesand
procedures governing application bystateandlocalagencies under theprogram;and
WHEREAS,saidadoptedproceduresestablishedbytheBOARDrequirethe
applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications,signature authorization,the
availability oflocal matching funds,and authorization tosigna participant agreement
withthe BOARD prior to submission ofsaid application tothe BOARD.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1.That the Fountain Hills Town Council approves the filing ofan application
for Local,Regional and State Parks grant assistance for the FOUNTAIN PARK -PHASE
I.
Section 2.That the Fountain Hills Town Council certifies thatthe application is
consistent and compatible withall adopted plansand programs ofthe Mayor and
Common Council ofthe Town of Fountain Hillsfor outdoor recreation improvements.
Section 3.That the Fountain Hills Town Council agrees to comply withall
appropriate procedures,guidelines,and requirements established bythe BOARD asapart
of the application process.
Section 4.The Fountain Hills Town Council certifies that the Town of Fountain Hills
will comply withall appropriate state and federal regulations,policies,guidelines and

Section 5.The Fountain Hills Town Council certifies that the Town of Fountain Hills
hasmatchingfundsintheamountof $700,000 fromthefollowingsources:M.C.O.
Properties,Inc.;Town of Fountain Hills General Fund;and Fountain HillsCivic
Organizations.
Section 6.That the Fountain Hills Town Council hereby authorizes the Fountain
Hills Director ofParksand Recreation toactasitsagentin conducting all negotiations,
executing and submitting all documents and performing any other suchdutiesasmaybe
necessary forthe completion of the aforementioned projects.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Mayor and Common Council of the Town of
Fountain Hills,Arizona,this 2nd day of April,1998.
