RESOLUTION 2001-34
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES FOR THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS BY AMENDING POLICY 6.5
SICK LEAVE AND 6.6 FUNERAL LEAVE.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.That the Town has adopted personnel policies and procedures andthatthe Council
wishes to amend those policies and procedures as follows.
Section 2.Thatpolicy6.5 regarding sickleaveis amended byaddinga provision forthepay
outof sick leave hoursupon separation of service forany reason other than
involuntary termination.Employees with 10+years of continuous,full-time service
musthavea minimum of 480 banked sicktimehoursin order to qualify forthis
benefit,andwillbe paid outa maximum of 240 hours.Employees with15+yearsof
continuous,full-time service must have a minimum of 720 banked sick time hours in
order to qualify forthis benefit,andwillbe paid outa maximum of480hours.
Section 3.That policy 6.5 regarding sick leave is amended by adding three personal daysper
calendar year,whichifused,willbe deducted fromthe employee's sickleave
balance.Ifan employee doesnot have enough hours in their sick leave balance,they
willnotbe eligible fora personal day.There willbeno carryover from yeartoyear
of personal days.
Section 4.That policy 6.6 regarding funeral leave is amended by adding grandparents and
grandchildren tothe definition of immediate family members.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,
Arizona this 2ndth day of August,2001.
