MINUTES OF THE FOUNTAIN HILLS
TOWN COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING
August 9, 2010
A meeting of the Town Council Subcommittee appointed by Mayor Jay T. Schlum to conduct interviews of
applicants to the Strategic Planning Advisory Commission (SPAC) began at 4:00 p.m. in the Fountain
Conference Room at Town Hall.
AGENDA ITEM #1: ROLL CALL
Present for the meeting were Vice Mayor Dennis Brown, Councilmember Cassie Hansen, Councilmember
Henry Leger. Also present was Shaunna Williams, staff liaison to SPAC.
AGENDA ITEM #2: CONSIDERATION OF SELECTING A SUBCOMMITTEE CHAIR
Vice Mayor Dennis Brown was named Subcommittee Chair.
AGENDA ITEM #3: INTERVIEWS OF SPAC APPLICANTS
The following interviews were conducted by the Subcommittee wherein each applicant responded to the same
set of questions:

AGENDA ITEM #4: CONSIDERATION OF RECOMMENDING THREE (3) APPLICANTS TO THE
MAYOR FOR APPOINTMENT TO SPAC AT THE REGULAR TOWN COUNCIL MEETING ON
AUGUST 19, 2010.
After consideration, the Council Subcommittee agreed to recommend the following applicants for appointment
to the Strategic Planning Advisory Commission, each with a two-year term expiring on June 30, 2012: Audra
Koester Thomas, John T. McEvoy, and Barry K. Spiker. Staff will prepare and forward a memorandum to
Mayor Jay T. Schlum in accordance with the Subcommittee’s recommendation.
The Subcommittee meeting concluded at 6:02 p.m.
