Councilmembers of the Town of Fountain Hills will attend either in person or by telephone conference call; a quorum of the
Town's various Commission, Committee or Board members may be in attendance at the Council meeting.
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to A.R.S. §1-602.A.9, subject to certain specified statutory exceptions, parents have a
right to consent before the State or any of its political subdivisions make a video or audio recording of a minor child.
Meetings of the Town Council are audio and/or video recorded and, as a result, proceedings in which children are present
may be subject to such recording. Parents, in order to exercise their rights may either file written consent with the Town
Clerk to such recording, or take personal action to ensure that their child or children are not present when a recording may
be made. If a child is present at the time a recording is made, the Town will assume that the rights afforded parents
pursuant to A.R.S. §1-602.A.9 have been waived.
REQUEST TO COMMENT
The public is welcome to participate in Council meetings.
TO SPEAK TO AN AGENDA ITEM, please complete a Request to Comment card, located in the back
of the Council Chambers, and hand it to the Town Clerk prior to discussion of that item, if possible.
Include the agenda item on which you wish to comment. Speakers will be allowed three contiguous
minutes to address the Council. Verbal comments should be directed through the Presiding Officer
and not to individual Councilmembers.
TO COMMENT ON AN AGENDA ITEM IN WRITING ONLY, please complete a Request to Comment
Iacard, indicating it is a written comment, and check the box on whether you are FOR or AGAINST and
genda item, and hand it to the Town Clerk prior to discussion, if possible.

2020-43 declaring and adopting the results of the General Election held November 3, 2020.
Staff Summary (Background)
This resolution is presented to officially canvass the results of the General Election held November 3,
2020 which sought voter approval and ratification of the Town of Fountain Hills General Plan 2020.
As you know, the final numbers were not yet available for the November 17, 2020, Regular Meeting to
allow for canvassing at that time. We have since received those numbers and they are reflected in the
attached resolution. To recap:

RESOLUTION NO. 2020-43
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE
RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3,
2020
RECITALS:
WHEREAS, the Town of Fountain Hills (the "Town") held a general election on the consolidated
election ballot of November 3, 2020, (the "General Election"), for the ratification of the
Fountain Hills General Plan 2020; and
WHEREAS, the General Election returns have been presented to and have been canvassed by
the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills.
ENACTMENTS:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS as follows:
SECTION 1. That the recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. That the total number of registered voters was 18,415; that the total number of ballots
cast at the General Election was 16,823; and that the total rate of return was 91.35%.
SECTION 3. That the number of votes cast for and against Proposition 450 are as set forth in
Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. The number of provisional
ballots in each precinct was as set forth in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference. The number of ballots rejected in each precinct was as set forth in Exhibit C, attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 4. It is hereby found, determined and declared of record, that the voters of the Town of
Fountain Hills, Arizona have ratified the adoption of the Fountain Hills General Plan 2020, as the
new General Plan of the Town of Fountain Hills, as shown below:
Proposition 450: Ratification of the General Plan of Fountain Hills 2020
YES: 10,244 (71 %)
NO: 4,244 (29%)

SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption.
SECTION 6. The Mayor, Town Manager, Town Clerk and Town Attorney are hereby authorized
and directed to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills, Arizona this
19th day of November, 2020.
