MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
FEBRUARY 16,2010
A public meeting of the Fountain Hills Board of Adjustment was convened and called to order
by Presiding Chairman, Vice-Chairman Paul Ryan at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 16,
2010, in the Town Hall Council Chambers located at 16705 E. Avenue of the Fountains,
Fountain Hills,Arizona.
AGENDA ITEM #1 CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE TO THE FLAG, MOMENT OF
SILENT REFLECTION,AND ROLL CALL.
Present for the meeting were Vice-Chairman Paul Ryan, presiding as Chairman for Chairman
Richard Gohl who was unable to attend the meeting and notified staff in advance, Board
Members John Kovac III, Angela Strohan and Robert Row. Also present were Planning and
Zoning Director Richard A.G. Turner, AICP, and Janice Baxter Executive Assistant and
recorder of the minutes.

AGENDA ITEM#2 NOMINATION AND ELECTION of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman
for a one (1)year term.
Presiding Chairman Paul Ryan asked for nominations for chairman. Chairman Ryan
nominated Richard Gohl and Robert Row seconded the nomination. A voice vote was taken
and Richard Gohl was elected chairman of the Board of Adjustment from February 16, 2010
until February, 2011.
Presiding Chairman Paul Ryan asked for nominations for vice-chairman. Board Member John
Kovac III nominated Paul Ryan and Board Member Angela Strohan seconded his nomination.
A voice vote was taken and Paul Ryan was elected vice-chairman for the Board of Adjustment
from February 16, 2010 thru February 2011.
AGENDA ITEM #3 CONSIDERATION of the Board of Adjustment meeting minutes for
February 25, 2009.
Board Member John Kovac made a MOTION to approve the meeting minutes from the
February 25, 2009, Board of Adjustment meeting. Vice-Chairman Paul Ryan SECONDED
and the MOTION passed 4-0, by those present on February 25, 2009.

AGENDA ITEM#4 ADJOURNMENT.
Board Member Robert Row made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting and Board Member
John Kovac SECONDED. The MOTION passed 4-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
