Commissioner Blumenstein seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
ITEM #5: UPDATE FROM THE PROGRAMS WORK GROUP REGARDING THE
TECHNOLOGY LEARNING CENTER(TLC)
There is an ongoing need for the Center to find additional space for programming; the TLC room is
currently not available to rent out to other groups. Vice-Chair Abrahamson, Commissioner Judge, and
Director Mayer met with Ralph Craner, TLC coordinator, to discuss options for the use of the room. A
decision has not yet been made regarding the TLC's use of the room. Mr. Craner will meet with
Community Center staff and the Work Group to further discuss options.
Sharie Mikolajczyk, Jerry Palmer, and Stan Connick, Fountain Hills residents, support keeping the TLC
at the Community Center.
Kathy Mullin, TLC volunteer instructor, read aloud the attached document.
Ralph Craner, TLC Coordinator, is confident a solution will be found. He said TLC would replace the
desktop computers with laptops. Mr. Craner suggested the TLC could use the room three days a week,
possibly Monday through Wednesday. Anyone taking a TLC class must have an Activity Center
membership. The room could be converted to a media room and could also be used for the Activity
Center movies and Classical Music program.
Mr. Craner distributed the attached packet documents for the Commissioners to review.

twelve months in advance. She also said that there is storage available for the laptops, etc.
ITEM#6: UPDATE ON DESERT VISTA DOG PARK
Commissioner Doty read aloud from the attached document. The plan is to determine in 60 days if the
"ADOG' Association has funding that may be available to fund a dog park noise abatement project that
was not defined.
ITEM #7 UPDATE ON IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
• Fountain Park - Phase 6 was started last week and will be finished in mid to late June. The
staging area is in the East parking lot. $1.5 million was budgeted for this project and it came
in under $700, 000 due to eliminating the large LED monument and also due to the lower oil
prices for bituminous for the East parking lot.
• Fountain Hills Integrated Trails— FIT - Sunridge Trail is the third trail and is the longest at
3.8 miles; additional way-finding signs may be added because of the length of the trail. The
Sunridge Trail kiosks should be in place at Golden Eagle Park within the next month.
ITEM#8: UPDATE ON PUBLIC ART PIECES
• Spirit of the Saguaro was installed and dedicated last week in the Brown Legacy Plaza at
Fountain Park
• My Buddy, a bronze sculpture of a boy and his dog, will be placed at Fountain Park near the
