ITEM#1: CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Community Services Advisory Commission was convened and called to order by Vice-
Chair Sherman Abrahamson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 in the Council Chambers at Town
Hall, located at 16705 East Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, Arizona.
ITEM#2: ROLL CALL
In attendance at roll call were Vice-Chair Sherman Abrahamson, Commissioners Nancy Blumenstein,
Patt Canning, Don Doty, Jerry Gorrell, Lynne Mott, Ron Ruppert, Danny Tancredi, and Donna Yordy.
Absent at roll call were Chair Natalie Varela, Commissioners Jim Judge, Geoffrey Harper, and Greg
Woo. Director Mark Mayer, Community Center Events and Operations Supervisor Mike Fenzel, and
Executive Assistant Nancy Walter represented staff.
ITEM#3: CALL TO THE PUBLIC
No one from the public wished to speak at this time.
ITEM#4: CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING THE APRIL 27,2015 MEETING MINUTES
Commissioner Doty made a motion to accept the minutes of the April 27, 2015 meeting, Commissioner
.. Tancredi seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
ITEM#5: UPDATE REGARDING THE DESERT VISTA DOG PARK
Director Mayer said Council asked for a 60 day period so that staff can look at the recommendations made
and to see if ADOG would be revitalized and if their funds could be utilized to help deter the noise at the
dog park. Commissioner Doty and Director Mayer will update and make recommendations to Council at the
June 18th meeting.
Commissioner Doty read aloud the attached ADOG document.
Commissioner Doty also said that ADOG has approximately $3000 to $4000 in its account. ADOG Board
members have been holding meetings; the Board consists of Dennis Contino, his wife, and their two
daughters. ADOG has been paying its 501 dues, insurance, taxes, telephone bill, etc. Mr. Contino offered
$1,000 towards the dog park improvements. It will be a while before another Board is in place.
ITEM#6 UPDATE ON FOUNTAIN PARK—PHASE 6 IMPROVEMENTS
Director Mayer said that most of the light bollard bases have been put in. The work on the East parking has
started. There will be additional costs on the South end of the parking lot due to the curb being a ribbon
curb and not a poured-in-place curb. A 120 foot long retaining wall might have to be put in on the North
side of the park. The words "Fountain Hills" would be placed on it. The project will be finished by early
July.

ITEM #7: UPDATE ON FOUNTAIN HILLS INTEGRATED TRAILS — FIT — SUNRIDGE
TRAIL
Community Center Events and Operations Supervisor Mike Fenzel said that the Sunridge Trail is 99%
done. The signs will be installed at Golden Eagle Park by the end of the week. 4,401
ITEM#8: UPDATE ON PUBLIC ART PIECES
• Wedding Vase — A sculpture of an Indian Maiden holding a vase, will be placed behind Euro
Pizza
• So Good to See You — A bronze sculpture of a Dachshund, will be placed in the Centennial
Circle
Both pieces have been donated.
*Director Mayer said the Technology Learning Center(TLC) lease item is on the May 21st Council
agenda for the recommendation from the Commission to extend their lease agreement until September
28, 2015.
ITEM#9: CONSIDERATION OF ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Tancredi made a motion to adjourn at 5:16 p.m., Commissioner Gorrell seconded and the
motion passed by unanimous vote.
