AGENDA ITEM#5: RECAP OF THE JOINT MEETING WITH COUNCIL
Chair Myers told the Commission he called the Mayor and each of the Councilmembers after the joint
meeting because of his concern that only three Councilmembers were in attendance. He stated that he was
assured by all of them that they support the Commission's work on gaining additional access to the Preserve.
AGENDA ITEM#6: UPDATE FROM THE PRESERVE ACCESS WORKGROUP
The workgroup continues to research alternatives for Preserve access.
There is a very slight possibility of gaining access through Mayan Canyon.
The workgroup met with Jeremy Hall, President of MCO. Chair Myers indicated that Mr. Hall is in
discussion with Town staff regarding re-platting Adero Canyon. If all goes extremely well, they will break
ground this year. The Town would then gain access up to the proposed trailhead for people, bikes, and
cement trucks. The building at the trailhead could then be built using the$1.7 million designated for it.
The Town is updating the CIP and Land-use plan. It could be possible to have the trailhead in the FY 2014-
15 budget. It is estimated the trailhead could be built in two to two and one-half years.
AGENDA ITEM #7: UPDATE FROM THE PRESERVE MARKETING WORKGROUP /
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
This workgroup will meet to make the final adjustments to the presentation. One of the first presentations
scheduled is for the Four Peaks Rotary on Thursday, September 26. A suggestion was made that two
