J Fountain Hills MMPC September 24, 2013 Should the MMPC pursue developing a plan to encourage a High School person join the MMPC?? Objective: Get young folks more interested and involved in the Fountain Hills Preserve. This idea has been briefly discussed several times by the Commission and additional information is needed to make a better decision on reaching this objective. High School Principal and others who have guided High Schoolers on Preserve hikes may shed light on this question. Are there ski clubs or other clubs to emulate in making a hiking club? Regional Park folks like Amy may give info/experience on this too. Scottsdale and Phoenix Preserve folks may have addressed this question before. What have been their experience. L, Many pros and cons as I see the question. Need to discuss at the September 24 meeting and have a MMPC volunteer obtain additional information for the Commissioners.
