RESOLUTION NO. 1991 -05
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN
HILLS, ARIZONA, ESTABLISHING A SALARY EQUIVALENT FOR PURPOSES OF
WORKER COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR MEMBERS OF THE TOWN MARSHAL

WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 23 -901 (5)(d) defines voluntary policemen as employees
for purposes of worker's compensation insurance; and
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 23 -901 (5)(d) requires a city or town to establish a
salary equivalent for such voluntary policeman for purposes of worker's
compensation insurance benefits if such city or town has no full -time equivalent
positions; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fountain Hills has established a town marshal reserves
by passage of Ordinance 90 -20, which reserves are designated as voluntary
policemen for purposes of A.R.S. § 23 -901 (5)(d); and
WHEREAS, the town marshal department will have a maximum of fifteen
voluntary policemen participating in the reserve program who will be eligible for
worker's compensation benefits; and
co WHEREAS, the Town has no full -time equivalent positions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the Town
of Fountain Hills, Arizona, that a salary equivalent of $2,050.00 per month is
hereby established for certified members of the town marshal reserves and
$1,650.00 per month is hereby established for non - certified members of the town
marshal reserves for purposes of worker's compensation insurance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain
Hills, Arizona, this 7th day of February, 1991.
