HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1992-07RESOLUTION NO. 1992 -07 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 24, 1992; AND ORDERING THE RECORDING OF SUCH RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, the Town Council of Fountain Hills, Maricopa County, Arizona by Resolution No. 1991 -48, adopted on the 21st day of November, 1991, did cause to be submitted to the qualified electors of the town at a primary election called and held in and for the Town on the 24th day of March, 1992 for the nomination and/or possible election of three Town Councilmembers; and WHEREAS, the Town Council did cause notice of the primary election to be given by the Town Clerk publishing notice thereof in the Times newspaper as provided by law, such newpaper published in and having general circulation within said town, which said notice as so published did specify the time and place whereat such election was to be held, copy of said notice with the affidavit of publication attached thereto, being now on file and a part of the official records of the Town Council of said town, and WHEREAS, the election returns have been presented to and have been canvassed by the Town Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills, Maricopa County, Arizona, as follows: SECTION 1. That the total number of ballots cast at said primary election, as shown by the poll lists, was 1,674. SECTION 2. That the number of questioned ballots was 3, the number of challenged ballots was 1 and that voters found to be ineligible were 1. SECTION 3. That the votes cast for the candidates for councilmember were as follows: NAME TOTAL BISHOP, Jack D. 619 CLARK, Frank 957 HUDSON, Wallace B. 947 SHETTKO, Marilyn 721 TIBBETTS, Margaret "Peg" 942 URBON, Peter J. 521 Resolution 1992 -07 Page 1 of 2 �blI-ShR& F. 0 . That is hereby found, determined and declared of record, that the following 3 candidates did receive more than one -half of the total number of valid votes cast and are hereby issued certificates of election: Frank Clark Wallace B. Hudson Margaret "Peg" Tibbetts SECTION 5. That all orders or resolutions in conflict be and the same are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed, and that this resolution be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption.
