HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1993-05RESOLUTION NO. 1993 -5 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, ADOPTING A CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE TOWN COUNCIL AND ALL THE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS. WHEREAS, the Town Council, boards, and commissions are public bodies; and WHEREAS, these groups frequently hold public meetings where the conduct of the individual members is on public display; and WHEREAS, it is therefore appropriate for the Town Council to adopt a set of standards of conduct governing the actions of council, board, and commission members at public meetings, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the following code of conduct is hereby established for the actions, and proceedings of all members of the Town Council, Board of Adjustment, Planning & Zoning Commission, and Parks & Recreation Commission during their respective meetings: 1. Meetings shall be conducted according to Parliamentary Procedure at a Glance, by O. Garfield Jones, and the mayor /chairperson shall be recognized as the presidor of the meetings and the individual primarily responsible to see that meetings are conducted in an appropriate, orderly manner. 2. The members shall endeavor to express themselves clearly and concisely in public, and not subject any member of the public, staff, or any fellow board or commission member to any undue or inappropriate criticism 3. During their various meetings, council, board, and commission members shall conduct themselves in such a way so as not to cause embarrassment to themselves or other council, board, or commission members. 4. The various members of the council, boards, and commissions shall give appropriate aid to the mayor or chairperson of their meetings to ensure that the agendas are carefully followed and decorum maintained.
