HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1993-10RESOLUTION NO. 1993 -10 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, OPPOSING HOUSE BILL 2307 DEALING WITH THE MARICOPA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS WHEREAS, House Bill 2307, if passed, would needlessly restrict the procedures of the Maricopa Association of Governments; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2307 also represents unwarranted and inappropriate intrusion into the freeway planning process of the Maricopa Association of Governments by the Legislature; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2307 is an improper intrusion into matters best left to municipalities; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary for the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills to state its opposition to any such measures, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills hereby state their opposition to House Bill 2307 and wish to encourage the State Legislature of the State of Arizona and the Governor to work diligently for this bill's defeat, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills request our State Legislators, Representative Graham, Representative Schweikert, and Senator Phillips to work diligently to defeat this bill.
