PROCLAMATION
Whereas, April is designated National Volunteer Month and giving freely to
others is one of the noblest of human enterprises; and
Whereas, this year marks the 40th annual celebration of Volunteer month,
created in 1973 to recognize the efforts of dedicated community volunteers;
and
Whereas, nationally, more than 175 million volunteers working in their
communities contribute their time and talents daily to make a real difference in
the lives of others; and
Whereas, more than 700 Fountain Hills volunteers donated their time to the
Town of Fountain Hills by giving approximately 20,000 hours in 2013 as
volunteer service to the Community Center, Senior Activity Center, the
Municipal Court, as well as volunteering in departments at Town Hall
including Administration, Development Services, and Community Services;
Now, therefore, I, Linda M. Kavanagh, Mayor of the Town of Fountain Hills, do
proclaim April as Volunteer Month in Fountain Hills and hereby express deep
gratitude to the many volunteers who support the Town by generously giving
their time and talents to benefit our community
