A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE
AND PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR
VOTER REGISTRATION;AND DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND THE
LAST DATE FOR CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS.
BE IT RESOLVED,bythe Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,
Arizona,as follows:
Section 1.Designation of Election Date;Purpose
That March 12,1996 has been setasthe time for holding the Primary Election inthe
Town of Fountain Hills for the purpose of nominating candidates for the offices of
councilmember and mayor whose names shall appear onthe ballot at the General Election tobe
heldon May 21,1996.Any candidate receiving a majority of allthe votes cast atthe Primary
Election willbe declared elected without running atthe General Election.
That March 12,1996 has been setasthetimefor holding the Referendum Election inthe
Town of Fountain Hillsforthe purpose of determining Referendum No.94-ROOland
Referendum No.95-R001.
Section 2.Designating Deadline for Voter Registration
County registration and voting listswillbe used forthe municipal election.In order to
be qualified to vote atthe primary,you must be registered by February 12,1996.
Section 3.Designating Date and Place to File Candidate Nomination Form
Candidates seeking municipal office may obtain nomination papers and other materials
whichmustbefiledby candidates atthe Fountain Hills Town Hall beginning December 13,
1995.Candidates must file nomination papers and other nominating forms by 5:00 p.m.on
January 12,1996 atthe Fountain Hills Town Hall in order for their names to appear onthe
Primary Election ballot.
