A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN
HILLS,MARICOPA COUNTY,ARIZONA,DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE
RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 11,1997;AND ORDERING
THE RECORDING OF SUCH RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS,the Town Council of Fountain Hills,Maricopa County,Arizona did cause tobe submitted
tothequalified electors ofthetownataspecialelectionheldinandforthe Town onthe 11th dayofMarch,1997
todetermineifthenameofthepolitical subdivision knownasthe Town of Fountain Hillsshouldbechangedto
the City of Fountain Hills;and
WHEREAS,the election returns have been presented toand have been canvassed bytheTown Council.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,
Maricopa County,Arizona,as follows:
SECTION 1.That thetotal number of ballots castatsaid special election,asshownbythepolllists,
was 3,485.
SECTION 2.That the number of ballots tobe verified was28,the number of challenged ballots was
0andthat voters found tobe ineligible were0.
SECTION 3.That the votes cast for Proposition 403,determining ifthe name of the Town of Fountain
Hills should be changed tothe City of Fountain Hills,were as follows:

SECTION 4.That all orders or resolutions in conflict be and the same are,to the extent of such conflict,

PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,Arizona,this 20th
day of March,1997.
