A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE AND
PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER
REGISTRATION;AND DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND THE LAST DATE
FOR CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS.
BE IT RESOLVED,bytheMayorandCommonCounciloftheTownofFountainHills,Arizona,as
follows:
Section 1.Designation of Election Date;Purpose
ThatMarch10,1998hasbeensetasthetimefor holding the Primary Election intheTownof Fountain
Hillsforthepurposeofnominatingcandidatesfortheofficesof councilmember andmayorwhosenamesshall
appearontheballotattheGeneralElectiontobeheldonMay19,1998.Anycandidatereceivingamajorityofall
thevotescastatthe Primary Election willbe declared elected without running attheGeneralElection.
Section 2.Designating Deadline for Voter Registration
Countyregistrationandvotinglistswillbeusedforthemunicipalelection.Inordertobequalifiedtovote
atthe primary,youmustbe registered by February 9,1998.
Section 3.Designating Date and Place to File Candidate Nomination Form
Candidates seeking municipal officemayobtain nomination papers and other materialswhichmustbe
filedby candidates atthe Fountain Hills Town Hall beginning December 10,1997.Candidates must file
nomination papers and other nominating formsby 5:00 p.m.on January 9,1998atthe Fountain HillsTownHallin
orderfortheirnamesto appear onthe Primary Election ballot.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,Arizona,this6th
dayof November,1997.

HILLS,ARIZONA,DESIGNANDO LA FECHA DE ELECCION Y PROPOSITO DE LA
ELECCION;DESIGNANDO UNA FECHA LIMITE PARA REGISTRARSE PARA
VOTAR;Y DESIGNANDO EL LUGAR Y LA ULTIMA FECHA PARA QUE LOS
CANDIDATOS PRESENTEN LOS FORMULARIOS DE NOMINACION.
SE RESUELVE,porel Alcalde yelCabildodelaPueblode Fountain Hills,Arizona,comosigue:
Seccion 1.Designacion de la Fecha de la Eleccion;Proposito
Este March 10,1998hasido establecido como el tiempo para celebrar la Eleccion Primaria,enla
Pueblo de Fountain Hillsconel proposito dela nominacion de candidatos para alcalde y cabildo
membre,cuyos nombres apareceran enla boleta dela Eleccion General ha celebrarse elMay19,
1998.Cualesquiera de los candidatos que reciban una mayoria de todos los votos emitidos enla
Eleccion Primaria seran declarados electos,sinque tengan que participar enla Eleccion General.
Seccion 2.Designacion de la Fecha Limite para Registrarse para Votar
Los registros ylas listas para votar del Condado seran usadas para la eleccion municipal.Afinde
estar califacado para votar,usted debe estar registrado para February 9,1998.
Seccion 3.Designando la Frecha yel Lugar para que los Candidatos Presenten el
Formulario de la Nominacion de su Candidatura.
Los candidatos que persigan un puesto municipal pueden obtener los formularios de nominacion y
otros materiales,que deberan ser presentados por los candidatos en Pueblo de Fountain Hills
comenzando December 10,1997.Los candidatos deven presentar los formularios de nominacion
paralas 5:00 p.m.en January 9,1998en Pueblo de Fountain Hillsafindequesus nombres
aparenzcan enla boleta dela Eleccion Primaria.
PASADA Y ADOPTADA porel Alcalde yel Cabildo dela Pueblo de Fountain Hills,Arizona,
este sixth dia de Novembre,1997.
