RESOLUTION #1997-62
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,MARICOPA COUNTY,ARIZONA,
AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OFTHETOWNOF FOUNTAIN HILLS,
ARIZONA TO ADOPT THAT CERTAIN DOCUMENT KNOWN AS THE
FIREROCK COUNTRY CLUB AREA SPECIFIC PLAN.
WHEREAS The Town of Fountain Hills adopted TheFountainHillsGeneralPlan onMay6,
1993 withthe adoption of Resolution #1993-15;and
WHEREAS TheFountain Hills General Plan has designated the area known as "Summit
East",largely located in Sections 27,28,and29,Township 3North,Range6East
of the Gila and Salt River Meridian,Maricopa County,Arizona,according toa
master plan developed bythe property owner,and approved by Maricopa County
priortothe incorporation ofthe Town of Fountain Hills;and
WHEREAS The Town of Fountain Hills has received an application from MCO Properties,
L.P.foran Area Specific Plan in Sections 27,28,and29,Township 3 North,
Range 6 East of the Gila andSalt River Meridian,Maricopa County,Arizona;and
WHEREAS Thisarea specific planis entitled TheFireRock Country ClubAreaSpecificPlan;
and
WHEREAS The Town of Fountain Hills advertised with public notices of asize that were one-
eighthpageorgreaterinsize,intheofficialnewspaperofgeneralcirculation,the
Times of FountainHills,on September 10,17,24,1997,publichearingstobe
heldbytheFountainHillsPlanningandZoningCommissionon September 25,
1997,to invite comments from the public;and
WHEREAS The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission madeits recommendations
known to the Town Council on December 11,1997;and
WHEREAS TheTownof Fountain Hills advertised withpublicnoticesofasizethatwereone-
eighthpageorgreaterinsize,intheofficial newspaper of general circulation,the
Times of Fountain Hills,onDecember4,11,and17,1997,publichearingstobe
heldbytheFountainHillsTownCouncilonDecember18,1997,toinvite
comments fromthe public;and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The FountainHillsGeneralPlan ishereby amended to replaced its designations
shownontheFutureLandUseMapofsaiddocument inth^808 acre mea located
