RESOLUTION 1998-67
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,
ARIZONA,ADOPTING THE UPDATED EMERGENCY
OPERATIONS PLAN.
WHEREAS,town government hasthe responsibility of ensuring that
coordinated planning and preparations are undertaken forthe purpose of providing
effective response to major emergencies that may occur anywhere within the boundaries
of the town;and
WHEREAS,thisplanis published in support ofthe Maricopa County Peacetime
Disaster Planandthe Maricopa County Nuclear Attack Defense Plan;and
WHEREAS,theTownof Fountain Hillswillprepareforandbereadyto
execute assigned emergency tasks tothe Emergency Response Organization.These
assigned emergency tasksare intended to reduce the effects of both peacetime and
wartime disasters onthe people and the property inthe town;and
WHEREAS,copies ofthe Updated Emergency Operations Plan have been filed
inthe office ofthe Clerk ofthe Town of Fountain Hillsin accordance with provisions of
Article 26-307B,Arizona Revised Statutes.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common
Council oftheTownof Fountain Hills hereby promulgate the Updated Emergency
Operations Plan.

EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN
LETTER OF PROMULGATION
In the event ofa natural or man-made disaster or nuclear warfare affecting the Town of
Fountain Hills,itis the responsibility of the Town government to protect lives and
property by implementing plans and procedures developed forthis purpose.
Thisplanis published in support ofthe State ofArizona Emergency Operation Planand
theMaricopa County Emergency Operations Plan and complies withArizona Revised
Statutes Title 26,Chapter 2.
The purpose ofthisplanistoprovidedirection and guidance toTown departments,
personnel,and supporting agencies.It constitutes adirectivetoTown departments to
prepare forand execute assigned emergency tasks to ensure maximumsurvivalofthe
population and tominimize property damage in the event ofa disaster.
Thisplaniseffectiveforplanning purposes and preparations onreceipt,andfor
execution when ordered by the Mayor.
Acopyofthisplan has been filed intheofficeoftheTownClerkoftheTownof
Fountain Hills,under the provisions of the Arizona Revised Statutes,Section 26-307B.
