HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2000-38RESOLUTION 2000-38 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS BY AMENDING POLICY 6.4 VACATION LEAVE. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OFTHE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.ThattheTown has adopted personnel policies and procedures andthat the Council wishes to amend those policies and procedures as follows. Section 2.That policy 6.4regardingvacation leave is amended by providing an additional step in the vacation accrual for employees with three (3)but less than seven (7)years of continuous service and that amendment is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3.That policy 6.4 regarding vacation leave is amended by allowing employees to use vacation leave inunitsofnot less than two(2)hours,as opposed to the current allowance of not less than four (4)hours and that amendment is attached hereto as Exhibit "B". FOR THE TOWN OFFOUNTAIN HILLS lul L.rtforain,Town Manager ATTESTED TO: Cassie B.Hansen,Town Clerk APPROVED AS TO FORM: William E.Farrell,Town Attorney EXHIBIT "A" RESOLUTION 2000-38 6.4 VACATION LEAVE B.Rates of Accrual Employees with less than three (3)years of continuous service will accrue vacation leave at the rate offour(4)hours per pay period uptoa maximum of one hundred seventy-six (176)hours.Employees with three (3)but less than seven (7)years of continuous service will accrue vacation leave at the rate offive(5)hours per pay period uptoa maximum of one hundred seventy-six (176)hours.Employees with seven (7)but less than ten (10) years of continuous service will accrue vacation leave at the rate ofsix(6) hours per pay period uptoa maximum of two hundred (200)hours. Employees with ten (10)but less than fifteen (15)years of continuous service will accrue vacation leave at the rate of seven (7)hours per pay period uptoa maximum oftwo hundred (200)hours.Employees with fifteen (15)or more years of service will accrue vacation leave at the rate of eight (8)hours per pay period uptoa maximum oftwo hundred twenty five (225) hours. c EXHIBIT 'B' RESOLUTION 2000-38 6.4 VACATION LEAVE E.SCHEDULING OF VACATION LEAVE Each department head will schedule vacation with regard to operating requirements and,in so far as possible,in accordance with the wishes of the employee.Vacation leave must be requested and approved by the department head in advance.An employee may take as many vacation days as he or she has accrued plus any vacation time to be accrued during the period of vacation. The department head is authorized to determine the maximum amount of vacation leave that can be taken at one time and is responsible for reporting all vacation leave to the Town Clerk.Employees will be permitted to use vacation leave in units of not less than two(2)hours and in incremented units of one-half (1/2)hour or more,in any one day
