A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE AND
PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER
REGISTRATION;AND DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND THE LAST DATE
FOR CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS.
BE IT RESOLVED,bythe Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,Arizona,as
follows:
Section 1.Designation of Election Date;Purpose
That March 12,2002 has been setasthe time for holding the Primary Election inthe Town of Fountain
Hillsforthe purpose of nominating candidates forthe offices of councilmember andmayorwhosenamesshall
appear ontheballotatthe General Election tobeheldonMay21,2002.Any candidate receiving amajorityofall
the votes cast atthe Primary Election willbe declared elected without running atthe General Election.
Section 2.Designating Deadline for Voter Registration
County registration and voting listswillbeusedforthe municipal election.In order tobe qualified tovote
atthe primary,individuals must be registered by February 11,2002.
Section 3.Designating Date and Place toFile Candidate Nomination Form
Candidates seeking municipal office may obtain nomination papers and other materials thatmustbefiled
by candidates atthe Fountain Hills Town Hall beginning November 13,2001.Candidates must file nomination
papersandother nominating formsby 5:00 p.m.on December 12,2001atthe Fountain Hills Town Hallin order
fortheirnamesto appear onthe Primary Election ballot.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,Arizona,this15th
dayof November,2001.
