A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,RELATING TO THE SUNSET OF THE
PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS,theMayorandCouncil of theTown of FountainHills(the"Town
Council")previously createdthePublicSafety Advisory Commission,f/k/athePublicSafety
Commission(the "PSAC"),pursuanttoResolutionNo.2004-07;and
WHEREAS,thePSACwasformedto(i)providetheTown of FountainHills(the
"Town")departments (throughtheTownManager)with recommendations for determining the
focusandgoals of theTown'slawenforcementandfireandemergencymedical services;(ii)
enlistcommunitysupportfortheTown Council's publicsafetypoliciesandprograms,ascarried
outthroughthedepartments'activities;(iii)assistinestablishingcommunity partnerships to
educatethecommunityregardingtheneedsandgoals of theTown,asidentifiedbythe
departments;and(iv)research andmake recommendations totheTown Council onissues
requested bythe Town Council orthe Town Manager;and
WHEREAS,theTownCouncilhasdeterminedthatthePSAChasaccomplishedthe
purpose for which it was created;and
WHEREAS,theTownCouncilnowdesirestoabolishthePSAC,pursuanttotheTown
CouncilRules of Procedure,AmendedandRestatedFebruary6,2014,Section9.1(D)Sunset
(the "Sunset Rule").
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS as follows:
SECTION 1.The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fullysetforth herein.
SECTION2.Basedonthe determination thatthePSAChas accomplished itspurpose,
theTownCouncilhereby abolishes thePSAC pursuant totheSunsetRule.
SECTION 3.TheTownCouncilhereby expresses its appreciation forthehardworkand
dedication of all who served the Town as members of the PSAC.
SECTION 4.The Mayor,the Town Manager,the Town Clerk andtheTown Attorney
are hereby authorized and directed totakeall steps necessary tocarryoutthe purpose andintent
of this Resolution.
