RESOLUTION NO.2003-61
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HELLS,ARIZONA,DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE AND
PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER
REGISTRATION;AND DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND THE LAST DATE
FOR CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS.
BE IT RESOLVED,BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HELLS,ARIZONA,as follows:
SECTION 1.That March9,2004,is hereby setasthetimeforholdingthe Town of
Fountain Hills Primary Election forthe purpose of nominating candidates fortheofficesofCouncil
Member and Mayor whose names shall appear onthe ballot atthe General Election,tobeheldon
May18,2004.Any candidate receiving a majority ofallthevotescastatthe Primary Election will
be declared elected without being required toruninthe General Election.
SECTION 2.That Maricopa County (the "County")registration and voting listswillbe
usedforthe Primary Election.In order to qualify tovoteatthe Primary Election,individuals must
be registered withthe County by February 9,2004.
SECTION 3.That candidates seeking municipal office mayobtain nomination papersand
other materials that must be filed bythe candidates with the Town Clerk beginning on October 3,
2003.Candidates mustfile nomination papersand other nominating formsby5:00p.m.on
December 10,2003,with the Town Clerk in order for their names to appear onthe Primary Election
ballot.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,
Arizona,October 2,2003.
