SPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 5, 2018
MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Linda M. Kavanagh
Mayor Kavanagh called the Special Meeting of September 5, 2018, to order at 4:11 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL— Mayor Linda M. Kavanagh
PRESENT: Mayor Linda Kavanagh, Vice Mayor Dennis Brown, Councilmember Henry Leger,
Councilmember Art Tolis, Councilmember Alan Magazine (via conference call), Councilmember Nick
DePorter. Town Manager Grady Miller, Administrative Services Director David Trimble and Town Clerk
Elizabeth A. Burke were also present.
ABSENT: None
3. VOTE TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
MOVED by Vice Mayor Brown and seconded by Councilmember DePorter to recess into Executive
Session; passed unanimously.
The Fountain Hills Town Council recessed into Executive Session at 4:11 p.m.
4. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
A. Discussion or consideration of employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion,
dismissal, salaries, disciplining or resignation of a public officer, appointee or employee of any
public body, except that, with the exception of salary discussions, an officer, appointee or
employee may demand that the discussion or consideration occur at a public meeting. The
public body shall provide the officer, appointee or employee with written notice of the executive
session as is appropriate but not less than twenty-four hours for the officer, appointee or
employee to determine whether the discussion or consideration should occur at a public
meeting, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(1).

5. ADJOURNMENT
The Fountain Hills Town Council reconvened into Open Session at 7:06 p.m. at which time the Special
Meeting was adjourned.
