HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994.0714.TCSM.Minutes TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SESSION Nod OF THE FOUNTAIN HILLS TOWN COUNCIL JULY 14, 1994 A Special Session of the Fountain Hills Town Council open to the public was convened and called to order by Mayor Cutillo at 10:00 A.M.,Tuesday,July 14, 1994,in the Fountain Hills Town Hall Council Chambers located at 16836 E. Palisades Blvd., Building C,Fountain Hills, Arizona. ROLL CALL-Following the invocation by Councilwoman Tibbetts roll call was taken. Present for roll call were the following members of the Fountain Hills Town Council: Mayor John Cutillo and Councilmembers Don Lawrence, Peg Tibbetts, Marianne Wiggishoff,and Frank Clark. Vice Mayor Wally Hudson and Councilmember Bill O'Brien were absent. Also present were Town Manager Paul Nordin,Town Engineer Randy Harrel,Parks and Recreation Director Robin Goodman, and Town Clerk Cassie Hansen. AGENDA ITEM #2. - CONSIDERATION OF AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO STANLEY CONSULTANTS FOR DESIGN WORK ON FOUNTAIN HILLS BOULEVARD. Councilman Lawrence questioned the$40,000 amount delegated for hydroseeding. Mr.Harrel explained that amount was for a subcontract for a landscape architect who would work on that aspect of Fountain Hills Boulevard renovations. Councilman Clark MOVED to award the contract in the amount of$51,200, to be completed within 105 days, to Stanley Consultants for design work on Fountain Hills Boulevard. Councilwoman Tibbetts SECONDED the motion which CARRIED unanimously. AGENDA ITEM#3. -CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION 1994-2S,APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR ARIZONA STATE PARKS BOARD HERITAGE FUNDS OF LAND WATER CONSERVATION FUNDS FOR GOLDEN EAGLE PARK -PHASE III. Mr. Nordin said if the Town received the full amount of the grant, $439,950, the required matching funds might create a financial difficulty for the town. He said the Town may wish to stretch the grant out over two years. Councilwoman Wiggishoff asked when the Town would be notified. Ms.Goodman said the grant would be awarded at Christmastime but would not be received until the March/April 1995 time frame. Mayor Cutillo MOVED to accept Resolution 1994-28 and Councilman Lawrence SECONDED the motion which CARRIED unanimously. AGENDA ITEM#4.-CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION 1994-29, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR HERITAGE TRAILS FUNDS FOR GOLDEN EAGLE TRAIL - PHASE I. The Heritage Funds program would provide matching funds for acquiring lands and developing facilities for public trail use purposes and would be in the amount of$46,400. Minutes of the Town Council Special Session - 7/14/94 Page 1 of 2 Mayor Cutillo MOVED to accept Resolution 1994-29 and Councilman Clark SECONDED the motion. Mr.Tom Anton of the Committee to Preserve the Natural Environment spoke in opposition to sidewalks being placed in washes. The motion CARRIED unanimously. AGENDA ITEM#5. - ADJOURNMENT. Councilman Lawrence MOVED to adjourn. SECONDED by Councilwoman Clark and CARRIED unanimously. The Town Council adjourned at approximately 10:35 A.M.
