MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE
FOUNTAIN HILLS TOWN COUNCIL
APRIL 30, 1998
A public meeting of the Fountain Hills Town Council was convened and called to order by Mayor
Miles at 6:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 30, 1998, in the Fountain Hills Town Hall Council Chambers,
located at 16836 E. Palisades Blvd., Building B,Fountain Hills,Arizona.
ROLL CALL - Present for roll call were the following members of the Fountain Hills Town
Council: Mayor Jerry Miles,Vice Mayor Marianne Wiggishoff and Councilmembers Bill O'Brien,
Sid Apps, Al Poma and Penfield Mower. Councilman Don Lawrence was absent. Also present
were Town Manager Paul Nordin and Town Clerk Cassie Hansen.
AGENDA ITEM #1 — CONSIDERATION OF THE EXTENSION OF PREMISES/PATIO
PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY KENNETH BOWMAN OF THE
AMERICAN LEGION POST 58 LOCATED AT 16850 EAST AVENUE OF THE
FOUNTAINS. THE APPLICANT IS ASKING TO TEMPORARILY EXTEND THEIR
"CLUB" LIQUOR LICENSE #14073009 TO AN ENCLOSED PATIO AREA ADJACENT
TO THE FACILITY ON SATURDAY,MAY 2, 1998.
Vice Mayor Wiggishoff MOVED to approve the extension of premises/patio permit application
as submitted. Councilman O'Brien SECONDED the motion.
Councilman Mower asked the representative from the American Legion, Rick LaPenta, how long
ago the event had been planned. He responded by saying that the Legion had planned this event
six months ago and was mistaken as to the date of the next Council meeting. He promised that
future requests would be submitted a month before the event was scheduled so that a special
session would not be necessary.
The motion CARRIED unanimously.
AGENDA ITEM#2-ADJOURNMENT.
Councilman Apps MOVED to adjourn the meeting. Councilman O'Brien SECONDED the
motion, which CARRIED unanimously. Mayor Miles adjourned the meeting at 5:33 p.m.
