AGENDA ITEM#1 — CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION 2002-21, DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 21,2002. Town Attorney Bill Farrell explained that the law required the Town Clerk to present the council with the results of the election for their canvass no less six nor more than fifteen days following the election. This date was convenient for the canvass. This special meeting was called primarily to ask the council to favorably consider Resolution 2002-21, which set forth the official results of the General Election held May 21,2002. Councilwoman Hutcheson MOVED to approve Resolution 2002-21 and Councilwoman Ralphe SECONDED the motion, which CARRIED unanimously. AGENDA ITEM #2 — CONSIDERATION OF THE FUNDING STATUS OF THE FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002/2003. Town Manager Roy Pederson commented that he had asked this be placed on the agenda and he was now asking for this item to be removed. He had been concerned because of the principle vendor providing the fireworks display had a May 31, 2002, deadline to cancel the contract. He had been uneasy about the Town not having sufficient budget information in time to make this decision because of the budget difficulty this year. However, the vendor was contacted with the Town's request for an extension of one week (without penalty). Mr. Pederson acknowledged that the vendor had agreed to the extension and therefore the immediacy was gone and staff had another week to develop the needed budget information. He repeated his request that this be removed from the agenda stating that it would be considered in a week. Vice Mayor Kavanagh MOVED to remove from the agenda and Councilwoman Fraverd SECONDED the motion. The motion CARRIED unanimously. AGENDA ITEM#3—CALL TO THE PUBLIC No one came forward. AGENDA ITEM#4-ADJOURNMENT. Councilwoman Fraverd MOVED to adjourn the meeting and Councilwoman Ralphe SECONDED the motion, which CARRIED unanimously.
