AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE TOWN CODE,
CHAPTER 2, MAYOR AND COUNCIL, ARTICLE 2-4, COUNCIL
PROCEDURE, SECTION 2-4-8, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS, BY
ADDING A REFERENCE TO APPOINTED BOARDS AND BY ADDING
PROVISIONS REGARDING THE OATH OF OFFICE TO BE
ADMINISTERED TO NEW APPOINTEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Town Code, Chapter 2,Mayor and Council, Article 2-4, Council Procedure,
Section 2-4-8, Committees and Commissions, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2-4-8 BOARDS, Committees and Commissions
The council may create such BOARDS, committees and commissions, standing or special, as it deems
necessary. They shall consist of as many members and shall perform such duties as the council may
require. All members shall serve at the pleasure of the council. IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO
ASSUMPTION OF THE DUTIES OF OFFICE EACH APPOINTEE SHALL, IN PUBLIC, TAKE
AND SUBSCRIBE TO THE OATH OF OFFICE. THE OATH OF OFFICE SHALL BE
ADMINISTERED AT THE FIRST REGULAR OR SPECIAL MEETING THAT THE
APPOINTEE ATTENDS.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Fountain
Hills, Arizona this 6th day of November, 1997.
