A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZONA, DECLARING ATACO, EL SALVADOR, AS
A SISTER CITY.
WHEREAS, the Sister City Organization has requested that the Mayor and Council of
the Town of Fountain Hills (the "Town Council") establish a Sister City relationship with Ataco,
El Salvador; and
WHEREAS, an exchange of unofficial delegations have encouraged development of
further ties between the Town of Fountain Hills (the "Town") and Town of Ataco, El Salvador;
and
WHEREAS, through a Sister City relationship with Ataco, Town citizens can become
involved in educational and cultural exchanges, training programs, professional and teacher
alliances, and other programs, allowing the Town's citizens to experience and learn from another
culture; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to advance economic and cultural exchanges
between the two communities and to encourage official visits each year between civic and
business representatives from each community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Town Council hereby officially acknowledges its affiliation with
Ataco, El Salvador, as a Sister City, joining together to enhance mutual understanding and to
share cultural heritages.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Mayor and Council of the Town of Fountain Hills,
Arizona, April 5, 2007.
