HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2021-027 - Jamie Paul TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT (THE “AGREEMENT”) THIS AGREEMENT entered into this 3rd day of December, 2020, between the Town of Fountain Hills (hereinafter "Town") and Jamie Paul (formerly Jamie Salentine) (hereinafter "Temporary Employee"). WHEREAS, the Town has a need for temporary services in the Community Services Department. WHEREAS, Temporary Employee represents he/she has the necessary skills and experience to provide the temporary services required by the said Department. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED between the Town and Temporary Employee as follows: Temporary Employee agrees to provide temporary services as an Executive Assistant to the said Town Department. The services to be provided shall include, but may not necessarily be limited to the responsibilities as indicated in the job description and/or those services as designated by the Community Services Director or a duly appointed designee. The work schedule and duties will be determined in the sole discretion of the Community Services Director or designee. The overall physical strength demands for the position shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, sedentary and light. Physical demands shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, standing, sitting, walking, carrying, bending, kneeling, crouching frequently. The term of this Agreement shall be for no greater than 90 (ninety) days, commencing on December 3, 2020, and concluding on March 3, 2021. In no event, may the term of this Agreement exceed 90 days. Town agrees to pay Temporary Employee twenty-six dollars and 92 cents, ($26.92) per hour for all services provided pursuant to this Agreement. Temporary Employee may not work in excess of forty (40) hours within a Town workweek or (7) day period. Temporary Employee understands and agrees that they shall not be entitled to any employee benefits provided to other Town employees except paid Sick Leave, workers' compensation insurance, and other benefits required by federal, state, or local law. Temporary Employee understands and agrees to abide by all Town policies, rules, and regulations, including those set forth in the Town’s Personnel Policies. Temporary Employee acknowledges that they have received a copy of the Town’s Personnel Policies. To the extent that Town policies, rules, and/or regulations conflict with the terms Executive Assistant- Temporary Employment Agreement dated December 3, 2020 2 of this Agreement, the specific terms of this Agreement will control. Temporary Employee understands that and agrees that they are not entitled to any rights or benefits afforded by the Town’s Personnel Policies or any other Town policy, including but not limited to any appeal and/or grievance rights. Temporary Employee understands and agrees that their employment with the Town is “at-will” and may be terminated at any time, with or without notice or cause, and with or without reason, so long as it is not otherwise unlawful. This Agreement shall be subject to termination pursuant to A.R.S. 38-511 relating to conflicts of interest or any other applicable law. Serves as the budget aide for all divisions of the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Physical Strength Code ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1 S Assists Department management in budget preparation; prepares Department budget reports. Prepares bidding documents and administers contract documents for the annual landscape contract. Assists Community Services Managers and Supervisors in project construction management by reporting, file management, and contract administration. 2 S Prepares and distributes Commission Meeting packets and postings; secures meeting rooms, attends Commission meetings, transcribes Commission minutes. Prepares all paperwork pertaining to Commission recruitment and attends recruitment interviews. 3 S Provides administrative support in the day-to-day operations of the department. Processes the department’s time sheets and leaves slips. Reviews incoming mail, distributes it accordingly, and responds to correspondence as directed. 4 S Prepares requisitions and receives products on purchase orders using the MUNIS software system. Maintains a department purchase card and codes purchases. Monitors and orders departmental supplies. Calls for equipment repair when necessary. Monitors and stocks the department’s brochures and flyers in kiosks. 5 S Provides support for the Town Hall CSRs; assists in participant registration and park facility booking, and other areas as needed. Assists staff at the Community Center/Activity Center with conducting tours of the Community Center, booking events, registrations, memberships, proofreading, and other areas when requested. 6 S Conducts research, accomplishes special projects, and sits on committees as assigned. Responds to requests for information from staff and the general public in a timely manner to achieve satisfactory resolutions. 7 S Maintains all of the records/documents for the department. Adheres to the records retention requirements. * See page 3 – Overall Physical Strength Demands 2 JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB REQUIREMENTS Formal Education / Knowledge Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature, which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Must be literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook. Experience Minimum five years in progressively responsible administrative work. Certifications and Other Requirements Notary Public; Automated External Defibrillator/CPR Certification; First Aid Certification. ** Equivalent combination of experience and training that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
