1. CALL TO ORDER
Councilmember Dennis Brown called the meeting of Wednesday, October 7, 2020, to order at 4:00 p.m. in
the Fountain Conference Room, located at 16705 East Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, Arizona.
2. ROLL CALL
COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmember Dennis Brown and Councilmember Gerry Friedel
COUNCILMEMBER ABSENT: Councilmember Art Tolis
STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Grady E. Miller, Community Services Director Rachael Goodwin and
Executive Assistant Angela Padgett -Espiritu
3. VOTE TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
1st Councilmember Dennis Brown
2nd Councilmember Gerry Friedel
moved that the Fountain Hills Town Council Subcommittee enter into Executive Session at 4:01 p.m.; passed
unanimously by those present (2-0).
A. For discussion or consideration of employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion,
dismissal, salaries, disciplining or resignation of a public officer, appointee or employee of any public
body, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(a)(1).
i. Interviews for Community Services Advisory Commission, Sister Cites Advisory Commission, and
Strategic Planning Advisory Commission.
At 6:11 p.m., the Executive Session adjourned and the Town Council Subcommittee reconvened their regular
meeting.
4. POST EXECUTIVE SESSION ACTION
A. Consideration of Recommendation to the Mayor for Appointment(s) to Community Service
Advisory Commission, Sister Cities Advisory Commission and Strategic Planning Advisory Commission.
1st Councilmember Dennis Brown
2nd Councilmember Gerry Friedel
moved to recommend to the Mayor that Amy Arnold and Rory Wilson be appointed to the Community
Services Advisory Commission with the term ending April 30, 2023 and Stephen Barnes be appointed to the
Community Services Advisory Commission with the term ending April 30, 2021; passed unanimously by
those present (2-0).
moved to recommend to the Mayor that Eric Walker and James L.Wilson be appointed to the Sister Cities
Advisory Commission with the term ending October 31, 2023; passed unanimously by those present (2-0).
moved to recommend to the Mayor that Gerard Bisceglia and Cynthia Magazine be appointed to the Strategic
Planning Advisory Commission with the term ending April 30, 2023 and Patrick Garman be appointed to the
Strategic Planning Advisory Commission with the term ending April 30, 2022; passed unanimously by those
present (2-0).
5. ADJOURNMENT
